The departments of Psychology and Biomedical Physiology and Kinesiology are proud to announce final approval of a new Bachelor of Science program in Behavioural Neuroscience. The focus of the new initiative is to bring the expertise of the two departments together to allow for a better and broader undergraduate education in Behavioural Neuroscience at Simon Fraser University. This is the only program of this kind offered to undergraduate students in British Columbia, and one of the few in Canada. The curriculum will produce Behavioral Neuroscience graduates with both a behavioral and physiological science background together with sufficient concentration in this specialized field to be competitive among students coming from institutions with specialized departments/programs in neuroscience. Both Major and Honours programs are offered. Students meeting the program specific admission requirements will be accepted directly into the Behavioral Neuroscience program from high school. Students already registered at SFU may transfer into the program, as long as they follow strict qualification criteria upon review by the Coordinating Committee. The undergraduate degree in Behavioural Neuroscience provides first-class preparatory training to move on to medical school or other professional schools and advanced graduate degrees in the allied health sciences graduate degrees in a number of areas including kinesiology, bio-technology, pharmacology, neuroscience, psychology, neuropsychology, or other allied health science degrees. |
